What is colonisation today? Are we colonised? How do we decolonize? Why is decolonization important in social movement’s struggles? What is privilege? How do we deconstruct gender? How does tourism affect local communities? What does it mean to live as a minority? How do we decolonise art?
The 5th Balkan Can Kino Film Symposium (#5BCKFS) returns to Athens, from 19 to 26 November 2022. This year’s symposium focuses on the theme DECOLONISE and through screenings of short and feature films, video installations, discussions and workshops, presents new and innovative audiovisual narratives, aiming to connect the local audience with the multiple perspectives of the theme.
All symposium events are free of charge for the public.
The 5th Balkan Can Kino Film Symposium (#5BCKFS) is organised by the mobile and pop-up film festival Balkan Can Kino (BCK) & FLP Athens Civil Non Profit, in collaboration with artistic and social institutions, organisations and creators, under the auspices and with the support of the Greek Ministry of Culture and Sports.
